Frequently asked questions

The answers clients ask for most.

Is the app free?

Yes: it is free, with no ads or in-app purchases, and the source code is public on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 licence.

Does it work with cameras that are not Dahua?

Yes, with any camera that offers an RTSP stream: just enter the RTSP URL in the camera settings. Specific features, such as NVR channel import and door release, are available for Dahua and compatible devices.

Can I watch cameras at another site?

Yes: with a VPN between the sites, the recommended option, or by forwarding the remote device's RTSP port, restricted to the IP address of the site you watch from. Port 37777 used by the Dahua apps is not supported: RTSP is required.

Where do my passwords and video go?

Nowhere: the app only talks to the cameras you configure. Passwords are stored only on the TV, encrypted, and video does not go through any external server. Details are in the privacy policy.

Do you build custom video surveillance software?

The firm designs custom software and integrations, including for video surveillance and access control: get in touch to discuss your project.
