What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites send to the user's device, where they are stored and sent back to the same websites on the next visit. Similar tools (for example the browser's localStorage) are treated in the same way.
Types of cookies
- Technical cookies: necessary for the website to work and to provide the service requested by the user (for example the browsing session, form security, storing cookie choices). They do not require consent.
- Functional cookies: enable additional services chosen by the user, such as displaying third-party content (for example a map). They are set only with prior consent.
- Analytics or statistics cookies: measure website usage. Third-party cookies that are not anonymised are set only with prior consent.
- Profiling and marketing cookies: build user profiles for advertising purposes. This website does not use them.
Cookies used by this website
This website uses technical cookies, necessary for it to work, and, only with prior consent, functional cookies (Google Maps) and Google Analytics statistics cookies. It does not use profiling or advertising cookies.
The list below, with the name, provider, purpose and duration of each cookie, is generated automatically by Cookie Smart from regular scans of the website, so it is always up to date.
The light or dark theme preference is stored only in the user's browser (localStorage), is not sent to the website and does not require consent.
Third-party services
- Google Maps (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC): the map on the Contact page is loaded only with prior consent to functional cookies; without consent, a simple external link is available.
- Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited): aggregate statistics on website usage, enabled only with prior consent to statistics cookies. Google Analytics 4 does not record or store full IP addresses.
For these services Google acts as an independent controller or processor under its own terms: policies.google.com/privacy. Links to the firm's social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, GitHub) are plain links and do not load third-party plugins or cookies.
Consent and banner
On the first visit, a banner informs users about cookies and lets them accept all, reject all or choose by category. Until consent is given, the website uses only technical cookies, and third-party scripts and content stay blocked. Scrolling the page or continuing to browse does not count as consent.
The banner is provided through Cookie Smart, a service developed and operated by PC Web Agency. As proof of the choices made, as required by law, the service keeps a consent register with date and time, selected preferences and truncated IP address (Art. 6(1)(c) and Art. 7(1) GDPR). Choices are stored for 180 days, after which the banner is shown again.
Managing preferences
Choices can be changed or withdrawn at any time through the Cookie preferences link, also available at the bottom of every page.
Managing cookies in the browser
Cookies can also be managed or deleted in the browser settings:
- Google Chrome: Settings › Privacy and security › Third-party cookies.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Settings › Privacy › Block all cookies.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings › Cookies and site permissions.
Disabling technical cookies may stop some parts of the website from working, such as the contact form.
Data controller and rights
The data controller is PC Web Agency – Via C. Treves, 24 – 88046 Lamezia Terme (CZ) Italy, email info@pcwebagency.it. Information on the processing of personal data and on data subject rights, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, is in the Privacy Policy.
