Developer
Free Cam TV View is an Android TV and Amazon Fire TV app to watch IP cameras, NVRs and video intercoms live, on the user's network or over the Internet. It is developed and distributed by PC Web Agency – Via C. Treves, 24 – 88046 Lamezia Terme (CZ) Italy, VAT no. 02787830799, email info@pcwebagency.it.
Data collected
The app does not collect, transmit or sell personal data. It does not require an account and includes no analytics, advertising, tracking or automatic crash reporting services. The developer receives no data from the app.
Data stored on the device
Settings entered by the user (camera names, addresses and ports, groups, display preferences) and camera login credentials are stored only on the device, in the app's private storage, and are not accessible to the developer. Passwords are encrypted with an AES-256 key held in the Android Keystore, which never leaves the device (Android 6.0 and later). Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in the TV settings, deletes all of this data.
Camera video is only played back: the app does not record, store or forward images.
Network communication
- The app only communicates with the cameras, NVRs and video intercoms configured by the user, to receive video (RTSP protocol) and, when requested, to read the channel list or trigger the door release (HTTP protocol).
- The "Search network" feature sends discovery requests on the local network only.
- Only the version distributed on GitHub contacts
api.github.comto check for updates. No personal data is sent; as with any Internet connection, GitHub receives the device's IP address, processed under GitHub's privacy statement. Versions downloaded from the Amazon Appstore and Google Play do not perform this check.
Store downloads
If the app is downloaded from the Amazon Appstore or Google Play, data about the download and the store account is processed by Amazon or Google as independent controllers, under their own privacy policies. The developer only receives aggregate, anonymous installation statistics from the stores.
Permissions
- Internet access: to connect to the cameras, on the local network or remotely.
- Wi-Fi state and multicast: to discover devices on the local network.
- Install apps, only in the version distributed on GitHub: to install downloaded updates, after the user confirms.
The app does not use location, microphone, camera, contacts or any other device data.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no data of any kind.
Rights and contact
Since the app collects no personal data, the developer holds no data to access, correct or erase: data stored on the TV remains fully under the user's control. For any privacy question, or to exercise the rights under Articles 15-22 GDPR, write to info@pcwebagency.it. Users also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it) or the supervisory authority of their own country.
Data processing on the pcwebagency.it website is described in the website Privacy Policy.
Changes
If a new version of the app changes how it handles data, this policy will be updated before release. The version in force is always the one published on this page.
